Celebrating Life and Nature
One Girl, One Tree, One Nation, Green Nation
In the heart of Telangana, something beautiful is happening that connects the joy of new born babies with the care for our environment. Dr. K. Shilpi Reddy, a well-known doctor, came up with the idea called “One Girl, One Tree, One Nation, Green Nation”. It’s a special program where for every baby girl she helps to deliver, a new tree is planted. This isn’t just about planting trees—it’s about celebrating life and ensuring a greener future for everyone.
How It All Started
Dr. K. Shilpi Reddy has delivered more than 250 baby girls in the last six months. Inspired by this, she wanted to do something meaningful that would benefit both the new born and the environment. This is a simple act of her way of giving back to nature and making sure every child grows up in a healthier world. On 07th July 2024, in Nadimitanda village, Medak District, the honourable District Judge Smt. Lakshmi Sharada joined Dr. K. Shilpi Reddy in planting mango saplings, along with the family members of Dr. Shilpi and team members. Each sapling represents a baby girl born recently. These trees will grow to provide shade and fruits, helping local farmers and adding more greenery to the area. This is not just a simple initiative for a greener environment but also a reminder to the true power of women in the society. It’s a small step that means a lot for the future.
Bringing Communities Together
People from all around the village came together to support this initiative. District Junior Civil Judge Smt. Rita Lal Chandu expressed her happiness in being part of such a good cause. Families, hospital staff, villagers, and members of the Grow Billion Trust also joined hands. They understand that by planting trees today, they are securing a better environment for tomorrow’s children.
In a world where taking care of our planet is more important than ever, initiatives like “One Girl, One Tree, One Nation, Green Nation”, give us hope. By celebrating life and planting trees, Dr. Shilpi Reddy and her team are making a real difference. Each tree symbolizes a new beginning and a promise to cherish and protect our natural world. Together, we can create a greener and healthier future for all.
